ESEF taxonomy and Conformance suite 2024

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the EU’s financial markets regulator, has released the 2024 European Single Electronic Format (ESEF) XBRL taxonomy files and updated the ESEF Conformance Suite.

The 2024 update to the ESEF regulation will take effect on the twentieth day following its publication in the European Official Journal, which is expected by mid-January 2025.

Consultation on the RTS documents on ESEF for sustainability reporting and EEAP:

ESMA has opened a consultation on proposed amendments to the ESEF Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) for integrating sustainability reporting requirements, alongside updates to the European Electronic Access Point (EEAP) RTS.

ESMA invites all relevant stakeholders to provide feedback on its Consultation Paper regarding the European Single Electronic Format (ESEF). The consultation targets a wide range of participants, including issuers, auditors, investors, and financial information users.

The consultation aims to gather insights to refine the ESEF framework and address the needs of entities affected by its implementation. ESMA will consider all comments received by 31 March 2025.
